Estrid Ericson, Schnapps Fish, Sweden

$0.00

A very rare and early pewter fish flask with brass inlay and red glass eyes. Designed by Estrid Ericsson for her company Svenskt Tenn. This piece is from 1928, one of the first made. It´s published in an essay about Svenskt Tenn with a 1928 years archive photo from company Svenskt Tenn. A few variants of fishbottles was made in the late 1920´s until a final version was chosed for production. Our is a prototype and probably unique.

After studying Peruvian Chimu era pottery (1150-1460), Estrid Ericson was inspired to design this fish flask in pewter.
