Yanzi, asymmetric Epalang knife, D. R Congo

A beautiful and rare asymmetric Epalang knife from the D. R. Congo. These kind of knifes were most probably ceremonial prestige symbols and could be find among different people groups; Yanzi, Hungaan, Mbuun, Ngul, Pindi, Lwer and Dzing.

Provenance: Collection Arthur Alfred Biwer, 1936-2021, Luxembourg. He worked in Congo during the 1960-1970´s and collected African art in situ and in Europe.
