Provenance: Rolf de Maré, 1884 -1964                                                     Leader of the Swedish Ballet in Paris in the 1920´s and grounder of the worlds first dance museum in Paris, 1933. Later grounder of the dance museum in Stockholm. Maré was also an important collector of modern art and he donated a lot of his collection to Moderna Museet in Stockholm. Maré made an expedition to Indonesia 1938 and documented dance on film for his dance museum in Paris.
