Dan mask, Liberia, (No. 1)

$0.00

Very old mask (probably late 19th C.) from the Dan people in Liberia. The mask has a lovely shiny glass patina of age and usage.. The wood (palm wood) has a very bumpy/dimpled surface which gives the mask a very unique look together with the shiny patina.

Provenance:  Max Willborg 1933-2001, Tribal Art Dealer in London and Stockholm. This mask comes from Max Willborgs own collection of tribal art. Max son Peter inherited it after his death.
