An extremely rare type of Sami pipe, made in reindeer horn with engraved raindeers and pattern. Cirka 1820-1840.

Provenance: La Recherche expedition 1838-1840, an expedition financed by the French state. The destination was Northern Scandinavia, Iceland, Spitsbergen and Faroe Islands. Michel Meyer acquired in the end of the 20th C. in France a collection of Sami objects from the expedition.
