Odo Shango altar by George Bamidele Areogun, Nigeria

A Odo Shango altar with finely carved figures in deep relief on the outside and on the lid. The top and bottom of the altar has carved spaces inside for keeping stone adzes and other ritual Shango objects. The altar is most likely made by the master carver George Bamidele Areogun, son to the famous carver Dada Areogun.
