A fine Dahomey kingdom applique banner from the Fon community in Benin. Depicting the god, Daghesu, a one legged female with a cockerels comb on her head to symbolize sunrise and images of the moon and sun in her hands.

Provenance: C O Hultén (1916-2015), painter, COBRA group artist and one of the founders of Imaginisterna/The Imaginists int the 1940´s. African art collector.
